In the meantime the latest montage from the Back to the Bandroom project is available to view.

Readership Stats 2

Posted by Martin Cordner on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, In : site updates
Six months since I last shared this so, if you live for stats read on and if you don't, well... go and make a cup of tea.

1. The first wonderful (but possibly not surprising given the age we live in) stat is that cordnermusic.com has been viewed on six continents - wow!  A shame that nobody in Antarctica has yet taken the step, but who knows - maybe one day...

2. The next amazing fact is that 1,668 unique visitors have visited the site 3,309 times, generating over 20,000 page views.

No. visits b...

Twitter, study scores, new inspiration articles

Posted by Martin Cordner on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, In : site updates
I've recently relaunched my Twitter account and hope this will be an effective way of keeping you (those interested, that is!) up to date on everything. Why not link up with me there? I'd be glad to hear from you.

Thanks for the site comments and contacts that keep on coming through. I quite often get asked for copies of music scores and I am more than happy to supply to anyone interested.

I have also completed two pages on the music of Len Ballantine and Stephen Bulla for your interest. These ...

好久不见!

Posted by Martin Cordner on Thursday, January 26, 2012, In : site updates
...or 'long time, no see!'

Hello folks and I welcome myself back to cordnermusic.com!

Our church at  Sydenham SA is on an exciting journey and as such keeps Leanne and myself occupied full time - Christian ministry is wonderful. When it's rest time we try to prioritise family as our two wonderful children continue to grow and develop. So my hobbies have been a little neglected; I've not been able to write music as often as I would like and as for the website... well, enough said. Anyhow that's ...

New content

Posted by Martin Cordner on Sunday, September 4, 2011, In : site updates
Hi everybody

The latest site update includes an inspiration article on the music of Dudley Bright. Plus the aboutbio and composing pages now have a new look, too. Hope you enjoy these changes.

No more additions to the catalogue this time, I'm afraid. Now these site updates are done I'll be spending any spare time finishing the Balham 120 march mentioned in an earlier post.

There have been some good comments posted on the site recently. Also, via the contact page I have been pleased to hear f...

Inspiration

Posted by Martin Cordner on Monday, August 29, 2011, In : site updates
Greetings reader, I hope you are well.

Here's something I plan to work on for the site: Inspiration - composers and pieces of music that have inspired, helped and defined me. So far four names are there - that'll do for a start. Probably thirty more to go - that'll take a few months, I imagine.

Do read the articles and do comment if you agree or disagree with something I've said. Thanks again for your continued interest!

Just some small tweaks to the home page of the site this week.  First, there is the addition of a social media widget at the top right - I hope that along with the search box, this new feature is helpful. Second there is a new, brighter photograph.

Readership stats

Posted by Martin Cordner on Friday, August 19, 2011, In : site updates
In adding new article pages for two earlier works Amazing Grace and Shout with Joy! I am pleased to report that site is developing a steady readership base

The lovely people at Google Analytics tell me that the site has had over 1,300 visits since it began back in April (remember it all began with me having my tonsils out?). In the first month (April/May) there were 355 visits and this last month (July/Aug) saw 625 visits. About half the total visits are unique visitors so that means 600+ pe...

Unity Series nears completion

Posted by Martin Cordner on Friday, August 19, 2011, In : site updates
Hi everybody,

All but my earliest Unity Series pieces are now online for your interest. Additionally I'm continuing to tweak fonts and layouts, trying to make the site as pleasing to the eye and functional as possible. You'll also notice a new search box on the home page.

I've seen quite a few good-looking Wordpress sites recently but I'm afraid I'm invested in this Yola technology for the time being. Would be interested to hear from anybody who has experience in either of these, though.

The si...

New site design

Posted by Martin Cordner on Saturday, August 6, 2011, In : site updates
Hi everybody, as you can see I've given the site a bit of an overhaul.  There's a new design - I hope you enjoy it, plus a ton of new content online.

In the coming weeks I hope to get audio clips and scores for my Unity Series catalogue, and upload some of my music that hasn't been written for the UK brass band journals e.g. songs, special/custom arrangements.

In the meantime, I hope that's enough to keep you going.  As always, if there's anything you'd like to know I'm more than happy to commu...

Site updates

Posted by Martin Cordner on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, In : site updates
I've tidied up the site a little, and uploaded some extra content. Improvements include improved audio clips & score samples plus updated music pages.  The videos page has been removed (it was getting quite long) so you'll now find video clips on the page relating to the piece of music.

In addition there are now audio clips, score excerpts and background information for the following pieces:

Camp Ladore

Posted by Martin Cordner on Monday, July 11, 2011, In : site updates
I'm writing this post on a beautiful Monday morning at Camp Ladore, Waymart, PA.  We're having an amazing time with 270 kids and over 100 staff at this state of the art facility which has been owned by the SA since the 1960s.  The aim of this Christian camp is to teach young people skills in leadership, brass, technology, choir, choreodrama and Bible study.  If you've read my recent posts you'll know that Dr Harold Burgmayer is the organiser of this camp.  Harold has this place running like c...
