Júbilo, Júbilo! to be published

Posted by Martin Cordner on Monday, July 8, 2013, In : publication

I'm a bit slow on reporting this, but a few weeks ago I received the good news that Júbilo, Júbilo! will be published next year. It's scheduled for SP&S's Judd Street Collection and providing there are no potential copyright/printing issues, it will be published in the March 2014 edition of the SA's journal which is aimed at advanced-level brass bands.

I finally got around to buying the Territorial Youth Band & Choir 2013 DVD and I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed the band's rendition, whi...

Learn, Love & Live published

Posted by Martin Cordner on Thursday, January 17, 2013, In : publication

In the post this week I've received the latest Unity Series journal (February 2013) courtesy of the UK Salvation Army's Music Ministries Unit. The score contains my suite Learn, Love and Live.

Also in the pack is the now-standard complimentary CD containing the pieces to be released in 2013. The disc is always helpful to conductors in interpreting the music, but also gives a view of the pieces that will be released across the year.  This piece is my 24th in the Unity Series, but it's partic...

'Synergy' scheduled for publication

Posted by Martin Cordner on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, In : publication

I've had the good news today that Synergy will be published in August 2013. This cornet duet was written for the Melbourne Staff Band's tour of the UK in 2011, featured by staff bandsmen Garry Todd and Neil Roper (pictured above) and also recorded by the band on their Chronicles album.

Since then the duet has been gifted to the other staff bands around the world and has been featured by the Canadian Staff Band for one, who featured it with principal cornet Ste...

Pieces scheduled for publication

Posted by Martin Cordner on Thursday, May 31, 2012, In : publication

It's always brilliant to hear news of a piece that's going to be published. Recently I've been notified that Learn, Love & Live and Over Vale and Hill will be published in due course - great news.

This means that the following pieces are scheduled for publication in the UK journals but are therefore not available to bands from me:

Overture - Celebrate & Sing (Judd Street Collection, Sept 2012)
Written as the opener for the 2010 UK Gospel Arts concert and premiered by the ISB. Features the tunes ...

'You are always there' published by SP&S

Posted by Martin Cordner on Friday, May 4, 2012, In : publication

Further to my previous blog post, 'You are always there' - a duet for Cornet and Euphonium - has now been published in the April 2012 edition. If you're not already a subscriber to the General Series, the music is available for purchase here.

There are three other pieces in the edition; Eliv Herikstad's march Shoeburyness, dedicated to Clarence Adoo and the people of Shoeburyness corps; William Himes' Soli Deo Gloria, featured by the Chicago Staff Band at ISB120 last summer; and Kevin Larsso...

Impact published by SP&S

Posted by Martin Cordner on Thursday, February 23, 2012, In : publication

Another parcel today - this time a complimentary set of score & parts for Impact from the Music Department at THQ, London. Good to keep as a souvenir and even better to know that bands will (hopefully) avail of the march and use it to bless and inspire audiences wherever they serve.

Impact should now be available to purchase from SP&S/World of Brass.

Fusion publication & Pacific Coast

Posted by Martin Cordner on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, In : publication

Just heard the good news that subject to the usual copyright checks etc, Fusion is scheduled for publication in the Judd Street Collection in September 2013.

I am unable to offer it to bands (though strangely some bands have it already...I don't know how for sure but it may have been released by the ISB or the UK music department?) but hopefully it will be a useful addition to the repertoire of bands around the world.

For your interest I've recently created a new page for my march Pacific Coas...

Cornet & Euphonium duet gets green light for publication

Posted by Martin Cordner on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, In : publication
Heard today that my 2003 duet You are always there will be published next spring in the UK General Series journal. Good news for subscribers (I hope!) but sorry for anyone who might otherwise have wanted it from me as sadly I am no longer able to offer it to bands.
