The Everlasting Light (2006)

Sounds of Christmas vol. 1 - no. 28 (publ. 2006)
Duration: approx. 4:00 mins.

On a warm spring morning in 2006 I had the amazing experience of sitting writing Christmas song arrangements.  As the sun shone brightly I arranged songs about the everlasting light shining on a cold, dark winter's night. Quite surreal, but part of the life of an arranger, I guess!

I was pleased to supply this arrangement of one of my favourite carols O Little Town of Bethlehem, along with Joy to the World and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer to the UK Salvation Army's Music Ministries for their Sounds of Christmas publication.

O little town of Bethlehem,
How still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light;
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.
